Update on the 21 Day Fix

Hi All, so far I am doing great on the 21 Day Fix. I started on May 1st, last Friday. I screwed up twice. Once I ate over my 3 cup popped corn limit n yesterday I had a cheeseburger which would be fine, but it was 77% lean instead of 95% :( Other than those two things, I'm doing great with it. Oh, and I'm having a hard time eating the orange containers ... a lot of the time they are skipped. I been doing the exercises daily n most of them I like ... I haven't tried them all yet but so far yoga is my least favorite. Autumn rushes through it so fast that it isn't relaxing n don't really see anything good from it besides maybe cardio lol So far I like everything else especially Mondays workout. That one is my favorite. I can tell my body is changing. I put on sweat pants that are usually tight, and they are a bit loose now, especially in my thighs. And it hasn't even been a week yet! :)

21 Day Fix Meal Planning

I was so excited to get my 21 Day Fix in the mail yesterday! I read everything first and then I been sitting and trying to figure out a meal plan with the calories I'm allowed (1,500 - 1,799). I think that part is going to be harder than exercising lol It's hard to spread the containers through the day, using only the foods that you are allowed to use and how many containers of each. My hardest meal of the day is going to be breakfast. I hate eating a sweet breakfast ... So there goes oatmeal with fruit or yogurt with fruit. I do like those, but not for breakfast. I decided to do whey protein shakes after my workout for as long as I can afford to. My daughter is doing the program with me and I KNOW she is gonna want a shake too lol So we will see!

Here are two plans I came up with so far, I didn't really fill in the dinner parts, I just know there will be some sort of meat and a veggie.

21 Day Fix

I did it, I ordered the 21 Day Fix!!! It shipped out this morning, and I should get it no later than next Monday. I can't wait! I been wanting it for a long time, a few years. Money has been stopping me. I'm worried that I won't be able to afford to eat clean all day long, every day and no skipping meals/snacks etc. But I am certainly going to try hard! If I can afford to I will be making it a lifetime change to do so. I don't see 21 Day Fix as a diet, but as a life change. This is something I need. It also teaches you portion control, which is another struggle for me. I know I eat all wrong, and it teaches you how to eat right. The right foods and the right amounts of them. I'm so ready for the change ... I been ready. And it also comes with exercise DVDs, all different ones for each day for 30 mins a day. I read all good reviews. I can lose up to 15lbs in 21 days. I can't remember how many inches, but I think it was 15 as well.

With this, I am also gonna try meal prep for the week. Maybe this will work out great for my family. I plan to prep it all (and cook it), but I might leave a few days out to cook it fresh ... like fish. I will never ever eat it reheated ... yuk lol But I think anything else I can eat reheated. Doing this I will have no excuse to eat the wrong stuff.

I am happy to learn that I can still have my popcorn while doing the 21 Day Fix lol I love my popcorn :) :P

I paid a lot for the 21 Day Fix ... So I won't waste my money and give up on it. I plan to keep doing it till I hit my goal weight of 120-115lbs .. then follow the plan to maintain my weight.

I will be keeping you all updated via this blog. I'm sure I will be sharing it all with you and some.

tumblr

Today I am making my rounds on all my social media sites and decide to go to my tumblr account ... which I may visit once or twice a year, but I have things auto feed there from other social media sites. Well I noticed comments, likes and reblogs on my postings ... my goodness I had no idea lol I don't follow many, and I don't have many followers ... But I guess I have to start visiting more regularly now that I am getting comments, likes and reblogs. I feel like such a slacker *blush*

Oil Pulling

This morning I tried oiling pulling for the first time. I think giving birth was much easier lol It was the most horrible experience ever. But knowing me, I'll do it again!!! I lasted a whole 9 minutes. Ugh When I spit it out it was nasty tasting ... like rotted onions or something lol So it must of did something! My teeth felt like I just got back from a cleaning at the dentist. Seriously! :) But that was all I noticed besides an upset stomach from having it in my mouth for so long. lol

For those that don't know what it is, it's a detox for your mouth, and over all system. Put a spoonful of unrefined cold compressed virgin oil in your mouth, I used coconut but I think any would work and swishing it in your mouth for 20 minutes. I'm not sure how people last that long lol Then spit it out, rinse your mouth with warm salt water then brushing your teeth and tongue. Also you will have to scrape your tongue with a tongue cleaner or just a regular metal teaspoon. There are a bunch of benefits, too many for me to even remember, but the two that stick out (and the reason why I wanted to try it) are clearer sinuses and whiter teeth.

Here are a few videos on it

If you tried this or are going to try it, please let me know your thoughts!

I'll Try .............

Years ago I used to blog 3 or 4 times a day and life happened and I stopped. I created blogs here and there to try to get back into it and it never really never happend. Then I thought it must be the site as to why I blogged so much ... SO I set up a Live Journal thinking that must be it! So I took all morning setting up a live journal .. I downloaded the app, tested it a few times and decided I like Blogspot more ... so here I am! lol

BUT

I have come to the conclusion that I Facebook too much, I basically post everything there ... hence why I don't blog much. I need that to change.

For real.

Finally getting somewhere .......

I been trying to lose weight since June, althought I skipped July cuz of vacation ... I been exercising and counting calories 5 to 6 days a week. I wasn't really doing too well until I got a heart rate monitor (Polar FT7), and a food scale ... now I am doing pretty good I think. And I eat whatever I want on the weekends! And no exercising on Sunday. And I'm not killing myself with HIT exercise or anything crazy. Just walking, hiking, intervals of walking/jogging or going to the YMCA

I was over eating before because the pre-set calories on all these diet/fitness websites are so far off that it's crazy. Sometimes they are a ton over or a way under. My heart rate monitor tells me how many calories I actually burn ... at first I hated the thing. I'd hike and the website would say I burned 1000 or so calories ... but my heart rate monitor said only 500 or so... UGH lol But now I love the thing! It motivates me to do more or walk faster etc when I watch my heart rate or how many calories I'm burning at the moment.

Now that I got a food scale I am eating the right portions ... Although we have a love/hate relationship lol I either weight my food or I measure it, or if something says there is 14 in a serving ... I count out 14. No cheating or lying cuz I only hurt myself.

I keep track of my calories on MFP with a food and exercise log (  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/profile/alska - feel free to add me) and I use MapMyFitness (http://www.mapmyfitness.com/) to tell me how many miles I walk or hike, and how long it takes me. I am now starting to jog and I use the free C25K app (http://c25kfree.com/) to do it. It teaches me to build myself up to running a 5K (3.1 miles). I am on my 3rd week of C25K :)

So far I've lost 8.2 calories since getting serious with my heart rate monitor n my food scale, and measuring my food. I think that's about a pound a week!
